21.2.06

Well, it's been a loooong time since I've posted anything here. I have all these good intentions, but I never seem to get around to doing anything....like I want to tell everyone all about my trip to New Zealand/Australia and all the Dalat people I visited there...but I want to learn how to post photos...and that's kept me from doing anything. Now I've been back for over a month and still haven't done anything. So It's 11:20 p.m. on a Wednesday night--and I have to be at school for professional development at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow and I'm contemplating whether I can learn Xanga photo inserts in half an hour...

So I might as well try. Here's a photo of me in Milford Sound, one of the most beautiful places in New Zealand--down in the "fiordland park":

Well, lo and behold if I didn't do it. It's kind of small though...I reduced it to "e-mail" size in iphoto. If anyone wants to e-mail me some tips on photo insertion using iphoto or Mac-friendly commands (I'm pretty hopeless on an IBM machine), all suggestions are welcome!

Tommy, I'm not sure i know how to help you. And I'm not sure of what you did. But, whatever you did, when I clicked on what you wrote with the blue underline, it brought up a bigger size picture of the one you tried to post.

But, try this, Tommy. Sign into your xanga account. Then, near the top right of your pafe, there should be a thing that says - upload photos. Click on it.

Then, near the top left of your page there should be a little box titled: Photo Manager.
In that, click on the thing that says - all photos.

Whatever photos you have uploaded will be displayed.....I think. Then click on that newest one you just put on, and a new page will open with just that photo on it.

Under the photo, click on - available sizes.

you'll then see the available sizes. I would click on "large"

I think it works fine to just click on the huge--three line--link. Are you wearing an MAF jacket? Good to finally see an update on here Tommy, I was beginning to lose hope.

Tommy, I'm not too sure of how to do post pictures using a Mac OS but this is how I do it on my PC.

The way I tend to link pictures to my xanga is using a third party hosting site. I use snapfish.com since it's free and it doubles as a online printing store if I want printed digital pictures. When I want to post a picture I then open my snapfish account in another window/tab and go to the picture I want to link and then I "copy link location". Then I go to my Xanga site and one of the options when you are posting a new weblog entry is the "pic" button. Click on the "pic" button, select the "Image from remote site" choice and then paste your previously copied link location and "submit". You should have the picture inserted. This is how I have done it on my own Xanga site. Do let me know if this help solve your problem.
This should work using other third part hosting sites other than snapfish.

Good to see something from you, Tommy! New Zealand sure looks beautiful.

How's Penang treating you? Nathan and I were there for three weeks in the summer, and it was great--still the same but so different as well! At any rate, good to see you're doing well!
